Still learning

Well, there is not much update to be honest. I am still learning about game dev. To be more precise, learning how Godot works. Right now, I am going through the UI part. I have realized that, following a tutorial or a course without having any input gets boring super fast, so adding something from me makes it more enjoyable. Then again, because it is a tutorial, I feel like it does not belong to me, so I skip adding my stuff to it. I guess it will be better when I start working on something of my own.

Anyway, that is all for now. As a side note, I need to work on the format of this blog. It is absolutely disgusting -_-

First post on my GameDev Journey

The Beginning: Hello there! I guess I can start by saying why this blog is here. Well, it is mostly for me. I would like to keep myself accountable and see my progress when I look back.  Right now, I am still learning the basics and do not have a lot to share. What I can say, I am using Godot as my engine of choice, because I am mostly interested in 2D games. The concepts I struggle with right now are how signals and layers, masks work. Finally My First Game!

 Hi there! I finally made my first asteroid clone game. It is simple, not the greatest, but I still made something :)  I just want to share some key points on what made me slow or where I could have done better. PREPARATION Preparation is key, even though what you are making is small. I lost time because I did not plan for what the game would be like and what the limitations would be. This would have given me a guideline to focus on what matters and not come up with ideas on the go. MAKING IT ON YOUR OWN The best way to learn something is to push your limit and try to find the answers before you ask ChatGPT or watch a tutorial. This makes you learn IMO. Of course, if I am stuck for some time, I definitely ask around but I tried to understand what the code I took meant. Well that is all for the moment.
